| 1 | Contacted USPS MTSC / 405-573-2403 and spoke to Gary. Inform him that he needs contact local USPS office to allow me to enter the building after hours. Gary was unsuccessful in getting anyone at local office to answer the phone. Gary contacted the support group to shutdown the server before I enter the building to minimize the time wait for the server to shut down. After 30 minutes I was able to find someone (Christopher A Warren) to let me in the building. Contacted Gary and report that I was able to enter the building. Spoke to support team and was informed to first replace the battery (HPBF878643-001) and not install the controller (HPBF749796-001) yet. Server was already powered off before I had access to the server. I was instructed to contact Gary when battery is installed and server powered back up. After replacing/installing HPBF878643-001 battery and powering up the server I notice the hard drive producing a clicking sound and after a few minutes the Drive ID#1 was marked as failed (450GB SAS HDD). Contacted Gary and he then connected me to support. It was confirmed battery solved the initial issue for this case and that the controller is not required. They also received alert that a failed hard drive was detected. They will be creating another case for the failed HDD replacement |
